Kirisun DP770 files
So I managed to get hold of some Kirisun DP770s to test out, and did a review on YouTube, which you should definitely see if you're interested in these.
But the main purpose of this post is to upload the codeplug which I wanted to share. The codeplug is just the programming, but I've put in it all of the DMR MARC repeaters in England.
All you need to do is open it up, put in your DMR MARC ID, and then choose the repeater nearest to you. You can also select a contact to talk to from the contacts menu, for example, if you're on slot 1 of a repeater, select the worldwide contact to talk to all DMR MARC repeaters that are set up on the worldwide talkgroup. Otherwise it transmits by default on the local talkgroup, which should only be used on slot 2.
You should use CPSp V1.81 or later with this codeplug.

I have also got a firmware update to share, which you apply at your own risk! It is from Kirisun, and it worked for me, but its just a disclaimer from me. It's not my fault if it breaks your radio.
Version is 3.17.056. Make sure you apply the firmware with CPSp version 1.81 or newer, which is available to download below.

If you have any newer firmwares or CPSp versions and want to share them, please leave me a comment below and I can add the later versions to this section.
PS. Click on the picture for the review part 1.

How do you like the radio? Has it been okay so far? I just purchased one and waiting for it to arrive.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed pretty good. I only had it for about 2 weeks for review. Better than most Chinese stuff, but still a few bugs in the software when I did the review. Hopefully they'll work them out soon.Have a look on my YouTube channel for the review if you're interested. There's a link to the channel just under the search box up there.

ReplyDeleteHi Mike. I had the same problem here, and got quite worried. Give it a reasonable amount of time to finish working and then just force restart it, by either holding the power button or removing the battery. (I think I had to remove the battery) After this it will start up normally and work fine, and the firmware will have updated. Let me know how you get on. :)
DeleteHi radiosification, thank you for a great introduction and video review of this rig. I have flashed with the firmware and you are quite right, you have to be patient and eventually a message appears saying successful. It was a good 5 minutes even though the green progress bar only took about 30 seconds to fill-up. You do have to cycle the battery to complete the process.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what bugs you have noticed? For the GPS, I found (as well as setting the correct time zone!) it often seems to give-up, even if I then go outside I have to cycle the power to obtain a location fix? Or maybe I am battling against the power-save?
Anyway, I am very pleased with the radio, nice and solid build. It uses a different audio chip than the Sxxx K800 etc so no worries there! Keep up the good work,
73 de Iain
Thanks for your kind comments Iain.
DeleteThere were a few bugs with the interface, such as the time not saving when the units were turned on and off, and the time from GPS actually just showed the time set on the device, even when it was wrong. A few other small things but I can't remember all of them now. Also there is an annoying click on the speaker whenever it comes on and off. I don't know whether this could be fixed with a firmware update.
I didn't use the GPS properly, as I didn't know what software to use to receive the GPS data. So I didn't really get a chance to find any bugs with the GPS.
I was pleasantly surprised by the waterproof ability though. That's a lot better than you get on the cheapo chinese radios. I did test it in one of my videos.
Please, any new firmware for DP770?
ReplyDeleteWould like to know if there is a new firmware update
ReplyDeleteI have the new 1.91 cps software
